Children’s book illustrations for Tutorbridge
Full-colour illustrations for a 32-page picture book, from character design to print. A case study by Aiko Tanaka, Editorial & Product Illustrator.
Challenge
Tutorbridge, a tutoring marketplace, had a manuscript about a fox who is afraid of the dark and needed illustrations that were gentle but not saccharine.
Solution
I designed the characters, developed a storyboard for all spreads and painted the book in a soft, textured palette that shifts from dusk to night as the story unfolds.
