Data import pipeline for Relaybase
A CSV and Excel importer with column mapping, validation and background processing. A case study by Alex Morgan, Senior Full-Stack Developer.
Challenge
New customers of Relaybase, a customer messaging platform, had to send their data to support for manual import. Onboarding took two weeks and imports often failed on bad dates or duplicates.
Solution
I built a self-serve importer: upload, automatic column mapping, row-level validation with clear error messages, preview, and background processing that handles files with 200,000 rows.
