Vue 3 migration for Hirewise
Migrated a large Vue 2 application to Vue 3 and TypeScript without a feature freeze. A case study by Jakub Novák, Senior Frontend Engineer (Vue & React).
Challenge
Hirewise, a recruiting platform, was stuck on Vue 2 after its end of life, with 180 components, an outdated build tool and no types. The team could not pause feature work for a rewrite.
Solution
I set up the migration build, converted shared utilities to TypeScript first, then migrated components folder by folder behind the compatibility layer. Feature work continued in parallel and every step shipped to production.
