Disaster recovery plan for Shiftly

Challenge
Shiftly, a workforce scheduling app, had backups nobody had ever restored. A customer security review asked for recovery objectives the team could not answer.
Solution
I set up automated, encrypted cross-region backups, wrote a recovery runbook, automated restore tests and ran a full recovery game day with the engineering team.
