Terraform modules for Freightbridge
Reusable Terraform modules and a self-service workflow for new environments on Google Cloud. A case study by Lukas Schmidt, Platform Engineer (Terraform & GCP).
Challenge
Creating a new environment at Freightbridge, a freight forwarder, took two weeks of tickets and manual console work, and every environment was slightly different.
Solution
I wrote reusable Terraform modules for networking, Cloud Run services, Cloud SQL and IAM, with a pull-request workflow that plans and applies changes automatically after review.
