Accessibility remediation for Learnwell
Brought a customer portal to WCAG 2.2 AA ahead of a public-sector procurement deadline. A case study by Mateo Fernández, Frontend Developer (React & TypeScript).
Challenge
Learnwell, an online course platform, needed WCAG 2.2 AA conformance to stay eligible for public-sector contracts. An external audit had found 140 issues, from missing labels to inaccessible custom dropdowns.
Solution
I prioritised the issues by severity and user impact, rebuilt the custom widgets on accessible patterns, fixed colour contrast in the design tokens and added automated axe checks to the test suite so regressions are caught before release.
