Order routing API for Kyoto Leaf
A Django REST API that assigns delivery orders to drivers in real time. A case study by Minh Nguyen, Python & Django Backend Developer.
Challenge
Kyoto Leaf, a Japanese tea brand, dispatched orders manually over a messaging app. As they grew past 500 orders a day, dispatchers could not keep up and late deliveries piled up.
Solution
I built a Django REST API that scores available drivers by distance, load and shift, assigns orders automatically, and lets dispatchers override with one click. Background workers handle notifications and ETA updates.
