Offline field inspection app for Kestrel Living
An inspection app that works without signal and syncs photos and forms when back online. A case study by Ryan Mitchell, Senior Android Engineer (Kotlin).
Challenge
Inspectors at Kestrel Living, a build-to-rent operator, filled in paper forms on site and retyped them in the office. Photos went missing and reports took days.
Solution
I built an offline-first app with dynamic checklists, photo capture with annotations, signatures and background sync with conflict resolution. Reports generate as PDFs automatically.
